Directors Meeting Minutes

October 6, 2004

                       

Minutes of the Carr’s Landing Community & Recreation Association Directors – October 6, 2004.

 

Present:  Natalie Rampado, Kim Kinswater, Liz McKinney-Farrel, Lance Marshall, Noreen Malmkvist, Joey Campbell & Lee

 

Joey Campbell was nominated and elected as a Director of the CLC&RA

 

Treasurers Report: Natalie

Balance:  $10,936.66

 

Liz met with Dan Clifford of the District of Lake Country regarding Nuyens Park he advised the borders of the Park have been staked by True Engineering.  Cameron Baughen contacted Liz with regards to saving the native plants in Nuyens Park – he has also offered to assist with the trail building.  Liz advised that the Encroachments within the boundaries of Nuyens Parks have all been removed.  Dan advised that we should be able to break ground with the traile early October/04.  Liz is going to take photos of the markers that True Engineering have installed marking the park boundaries.

 

Minutes from the September 8, 2004 – Lee advised that we do not need a second when adjourning our meetings – Noreen to remove 2nd by Lance and minutes were adopted.

 

Discussions on concerns with regards to Directors privacy, it was agreed that all Directors would have their surnames shown with the exception of Dave & Lee.  These minutes will be posted on our website.

 

Discussions on using our website – Lance will talk to Ched about taking over as webmaster of carrslanding.org.  We will forward anything to be posted on our website to Lance.

 

We had some discussion on the name to be placed on the swim float that is to be installed at Coral Beach:  Donated by:  Carr’s Landing Community & Recreation Association  for Coral Beach Park.

 

Lee raised the issue of additional bulletin boards – Motion for 3 additional bulletin boards to be built and installed at locations along Moberly Road, Lake Pine Road & Forest Hills Road – passed unanimously.

 

Liz will contact Anne Wise “Walk Around Lake Country” to see if the two organizations could work together.

 

Liz also asked if our Annual BBQ could be moved to Kopje Park – discussed.

 

Lee moved and Lance 2nd – that a committee be formed to look into a Community Centre – possibly using the Panabode on the property bordering Kopje Park. 

 

Light Pollution- across the Lake on the East side also along the westside of Okanagan Lake – are there any By-Laws governing light pollution, could this issue be included in a newsletter – neighbours might not realize how the number & strenth of lights affect the neighbourhood.
